Bagpipe Bonanza

Hello there, dear visitor! Now, you know I'm passionate about coding and tech, but did you know there's another side of me that's equally fervent and, let's be honest, a whole lot louder?

The Bagpipe Revelations

Young Lass I've been making some noise (the melodious kind, of course) with bagpipes since I was just 11! And not to toot my own horn (or, well, bagpipe) but... I'm pretty darn good at it.

It's a Team Sport! Just like in coding, playing in competition pipe bands requires a ton of teamwork. Imagine trying to coordinate all those drones and chanters in perfect harmony! It takes immense focus, just like debugging that super tricky piece of code.

Solo Star Not to brag (okay, maybe a little), but I've blown away the competition in numerous solo piping contests!

Travel Tales I've also trotted all the way to Scotland, the homeland of bagpipes, not just once but twice in 2016 and 2017 for the World Pipeband Competition. Talk about living the dream!

So, next time you see me, whether it's in a coding dojo or at a Celtic festival, give a shout, and I might just treat you to a reel or a jig. And if you ever fancy a duet, whether it’s in code or in music, just let me know!

My Journey

Education

Mar 2023 - Aug 2023

Student of Hack Reactor Bootcamp

Having recently graduated from the Hack Reactor Bootcamp, I am very eager to transition into the tech world. Armed with comprehensive full-stack engineering skills, I am confident in my readiness to enter my first professional role and make meaningful contributions to the software industry.

Feb 2018 - Jul 2018

Student of 42 Silicon Valley

At this instition, I learned C, which was a hard (but fun!) first language. I will always be grateful to 42 for helping me to realize my fondness of coding and mark the beginning of my journey to become a software engineer.

Jul 2011 - May 2013

Student of UC Santa Barbara

I am grateful that I got to attend college. After a few semesters, I realized the college experience wasn't for me and decided to venture onto new opportunities.

Experience

July 2022 - February 2023

Catering Supervisor

I have helped successfully lead a multitude of catering events, coordinating logistics between the front of house and back of house staff, as well as acting as the lead-point person for engaging with the event planner and/or event host.

December 2021 - June 2022

Customer Success Manager

I collaborated with 50+ clients, understanding their needs and developing tailored solutions for their business objectives, all while fostering strong client relationships and delivering software implementation process from installation to consumer launch.

May 2021 - December 2021

Customer Support Specialist

I resolved support tickets by interfacing live with clients over video chat and debugging complex issues with client-side knowledge and usage as well as identifying root issues with the application interface.
